The Introduction Of Artificial Fur And How To Distinguish The Authenticity

What is faux fur?

The term "fur fabric" refers to fabrics made from long-haired animals.

Mink animals provide most of the fur harvested. Additionally, fur comes from a wide variety of animal species, such as rabbits and muskrats.

Fabrics made with faux fur are often referred to as faux fur, simulated fur, or faux fur.

Unlike real fur, these textiles may come from animals such as mink, beaver, weasel, rabbit, or fox, and are made from synthetic fibers that are completely free of animal cruelty.

Because faux fur is designed to look and feel like real fur, it can be classified according to the variety of animal furs it is most similar.

Luxurious faux fur materials include faux mink, chinchilla, sable, bobcat, beaver, mink, mink, and leopard.

Each fur fabric has its own unique pile, which can vary in length and softness. When cutting and sewing your faux fur, it is very important to follow the pile.

Shaping refers to the direction in which the pile is tilted, and cooling must follow.

Long plush faux fur, medium plush faux fur, and short plush faux fur (commonly known as low pile) are some of the varieties available in the market today.

How to judge authenticity

Be sure to check the backing to make sure the fabric you are getting is 100% faux fur. If you part the fur with your fingertips, you can see the fabric backing underneath.

Carefully inspect the fiber ends. Unlike natural fur, which has sharp tips, synthetic hairs are round because they were machine-cut.

Burn testing involves taking a small sample and burning it on a fire-resistant surface such as stone, tile, or a thick metal rod.

Check the smell and ash to see if you can stand it. The fur is real, although it looks like burnt hair. The fur is likely made of acrylic, cotton, or linen, or it smells like melted plastic or paper.

Drive the pin into the dirt. If the metal needles slide easily between the fibers, you're looking at faux fur, which has a synthetic base and therefore smooth, stretchy fibers.

Still, if you have to put considerable force on the pin, you can be sure that the leather structure is a sure sign of using real fur. Lightweight is a less predictable but typical characteristic of fake fur textiles.
